Dreamfields Mexico

After the first successful year of Dreamfields Mexico, we are returning to the Netherlands with 10 mega enthusiastic Deworriers. From the Dutch organization, we were just able to set up Dreamfields Mexico in Guadalajara within a completely different culture with Dutch knowledge.
At Deworrying, we focused on catering production. As a team, we showed what we have to offer and especially showed how we let the Mexican 'interpreters' who helped us become part of our team in no time, making us go three times faster.
That tasted like more.

A year later, Deworrying is again asked to go to Mexico. This time not only for the catering industry but also for the VIP areas, the coordination of security, show management, reception, and all the catering staff for the bars.

Wow! What a challenge this is. We were allowed to pick up many more parts!

But then came the biggest challenge, this time we did not go to Mexico with 10 men. This time there was only room for 7 men from the Netherlands. This meant that we had to take on the rest with a Mexican team. An unknown Mexican team, which we had to get together ourselves.
A mega challenge, made for Deworrying.

The first step was to involve our old Mexican team from the year before. From that close-knit club, we started.

Schools were informed, marketing campaigns were set up from the Netherlands, and the training week was prepared. Locations were sought to be able to stay together.
The requests for tenders poured in from our W&S process. By now we had about 150 registrations! The enthusiasm of the Mexicans was high, they all wanted to be part of something that feels so unattainable to them.

From the Netherlands, we had facetime conversations for many evenings to make the first selection.

There we were! With the first 4 men, we started our selection process. We rented a nice hotel where everyone could spend the night. The first weekend, 50 Mexicans came for a job interview. Through fun games and a podcast, we knew exactly who could become part of the team. At the end of the weekend, we had a team. 25 Mexican enthusiastic 'Deworriers to be'. The group app has been created. Time for training.

For a week we prepared the team for the festival in the most intensive way. From team building to sports lessons, and personal development with a tight program of lessons about the industry and what to expect.

The team was on, we had become a close-knit family. Ready for the biggest challenge. During the build-up of the festival, we divided the teams into different disciplines. They went fast!
Everyone around us kept asking who those hard-working Mexicans were and why she "understood" so much of what they were doing.

Our Dutch Deworrying team took a club every day and ensured that his discipline was finished. Before we knew it we were helping every other supplier finish their job and our team was the most sought-after club around.

Everyone had a function on the show day, this was either Bar Head, Reception Employee, Runner (for the hospitality industry), VIP Bar Head, Security Coordination, or Production. Above that, we had the coordinating role and had to manage all these disciplines. In addition, we had 1 day just before the show in which we had to find and train about 300 bar staff among the 600 people to be ready the next day.
The show started and we could flame! It was so bizarre to see how hard our team worked. We were able to do everything that was expected of us. We could do this because the Mexican team did exactly what was needed. She took care of us.

After 2 intense show days, which were even the most challenging show days ever for us in our careers, we were able to look back at what we had achieved.

What a team! What a production! What a fantastic cool project to run.

We got through the dismantling just as quickly as the build-up. We delivered what we promised the organization. We have been able to set up an international Deworrying team.
With a fantastic closing in our hotel, I look back at what we have all done. I'm so proud to have experienced this.

‘’One week ago we had an emotional but beautiful ‘Goodbye’.
We had such a great journey during the last few weeks.
With some nerves and curiosity, we went to Mexico. There, we started our final selections to find our Mexican team for Dreamfields.

25 individuals took the chance to go on this great adventure with us. They had no idea what to expect.
It was an intense training week full of team building, lessons, personal development, and also a lot of fun
Day by day we saw every person grow. We saw them improving themselves, helping each other out, value our lessons, and every day they got more excited and secure about the festival week.
The day we started on the field, we started as a steady and motivated team. They worked their asses off!! I've never seen a new team working so well together. They were still learning, which was the best thing they could've done. No arrogance, no competition, only making sure they get the job done as a team.

The festival was one of the most challenging show days in our careers; we had such a strong and trustful team around us. During the breakdown, I realized what we had done. Deworrying can train a team and make it work. Those locals, trusted us even though we hadn't that much 'prove' in Mexico about what we were going to do. those locals made sure Deworrying CAN grow internationally!

For me, it was such a great journey. I don't need a 'higher' function, I just want to continue what I'm doing in life on every continent there is!
My second dream of teaching people came true. Not just at a regular school, but for a group that wants to learn more about our passion.

That's my life goal.

Dear team, thank you for your trust. Thank you for being such an amazing part of the team. Thank you for believing in us.

You made our dream come true.
We will see you soon!
